Choosing the right photographer for you is vital to the smooth running of your big day. Do you get on with your photographers? If you aren’t comfortable, your photographs will reflect that. Personalities are almost as important as the photographs themselves, so make sure you’re happy and that you both meet with your photographers before booking.

Ask to see a couple of sample albums that show weddings in full. If your photographers can show you consistently great images, all from the same wedding, then you can feel confident they’ll do a great job for you. Once your wedding is over, the dress has been put away, the cake has been eaten and all the guests have gone home, your photographs and your memories will be all that remains, so they have to be just right.

Look at the quality of the albums and prints on offer. Is the quality good enough? Can you tell what the wedding was like from the photographs? Do you get a sense of the couple’s personalities? Is there a personal element to the images that sets each album apart?

Our approach is very much to ‘go with the flow’ of the wedding, capturing the moments as they happen. If you expect a more orchestrated style of photography, with many formal groups and a lot of direction from your photographer, you may consider booking a more traditional photographer, who will work in this way.

Most of all, go with what feels right to you.
