We've been to a fair few weddings (including our own!) and have compiled our top tips to choosing the perfect venue for you:

If photography is an important aspect of the day for you, try to choose a venue that will let you select your own suppliers. This way, you can be in control of who you employ to make your day special.

Gardens and terraces make great locations for drinks receptions and for photographs of the two of you together. Don't worry too much about the weather. It thundered the day we got married and it didn't spoil the day in the slightest.

Try to make sure that the venue's wedding coordinator is flexible and will let you arrange the timings of your day. Of course, you'll want to be guided by the venue but, ultimately, you want to be in control of how your day will pan out.
